Therapeutic Massage
By
integrating a rich array of massage techniques, you will experience a maximum
therapeutic benefit of healing and relaxation. Many times people don't know how
much stress they're carrying until they have a massage; then they're able to
feel it and let go of stress-related tension. As the massage therapist stretches
and loosens muscles and connective tissue, stress and muscular tension are
released. Techniques used in our therapeutic massage sessions are Swedish
Massage (most commonly used for a full body treatment; kneading, frictioning,
and joint movements) and trigger point and deep tissue therapies which address
chronic pain patterns. Therapeutic massage sessions are customized to your
individual needs.

Medical, Neuromuscular, Deep Tissue Massage
Often
prescribed for injuries and painful conditions, this type of massage works at
increasing the elasticity of the muscles, improving range of motion and
decreasing muscle spasm and pain. The session begins with a full assessment and
development of a treatment plan that addresses the major causes of pain, which
are:
Ischemia:
Lack of blood supply to soft tissues which causes the sense of touch to be
over-sensitive to the point of being painful.
Trigger
Points:
Highly
irritated points in muscles which refer pain to other parts of the body
Nerve
Compression or Entrapment:
Pressure on a nerve by soft tissue, cartilage or bone
Postural
Distortion:
Structural imbalances in the body like fallen arches or a leg length difference
Biomechanical Dysfunction:
Imbalance of the musculoskeletal system resulting in distorted movement patters
(i.e. bad body mechanics in a golf swing, repetitive motions like constant
keyboarding, and poor lifting methods.)

of massage can also be used to help with conditions such as carpal tunnel
syndrome, tendonitis, tension and migraine headaches, fibromyalgia,
post-surgical pain, chronic pain, and almost any other soft-tissue
disorder.
